Business Chat, Apple’s chat service for organizations to connect with customers directly from within Messages, is now available to more than 800,000 merchants on Shopify.
According to an announcement yesterday by Shopify, the Messages button will automatically appear on every page of every online store that’s powered by Shopify, at no additional cost.
Visitors can click the live chat icon to quickly ask for product information and even pay for products with Apple Pay, right within the conversation. “This new feature brings Apple Business Chat to Shopify’s 800,000+ merchants around the world,” reads the press release.
Merchants can manage and respond to all their customer chats via the Shopify Ping app.
According to the company, people who engage in a conversation with a brand are nearly three times as likely to complete a purchase. Hodinkee Shop and State Bicycle, along with a few other brands on Shopify, is already taking advantage of Business Chat integration.
