Verizon’s new truly unlimited data plan sounds too good to be true

This might be the best data deal we’ve ever seen.

Verizon Wireless is finally offering a truly unlimited talk, text and data plan through the company’s Visible brand. It only costs $40 per month and is powered by Verizon’s 4GLTE network.

Full details of the plan were revealed today and if you’re already a Visible or Verizon subscriber, you will want to jump on this ASAP.

Most “Unlimited” data plans usually come with data caps that throttle your speeds to just a trickle. Visible’s previous unlimited plan was throttled to just 5Mbps and you could only stream 480p videos.

Those limitations have now been removed for a limited time. Verizon didn’t announce long the new deal will last but did say that it is using the new plan to learn more about members’ needs.

“We’ll also be rolling these insights into a bigger program to come later this year. However, everyone who gets to experience uncapped speeds will get to keep them — again, at no additional cost — as long as they are a member,” the company said in a blog post.

Visible support every iPhone from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone XS Max. If you already have an unlocked model you can bring it over to the network or purchase a new unit directly from Visible. Android support is a bit more limited. Only the Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+, Visible R2, and Google Pixel 3/3XL are able to run on the network right now.
