In a better-late-than-never scenario, Comcast’s Xfinity Mobile wireless carrier will soon begin offering two recent iPad models along with last year’s Apple Watch. These are the first non-smartphones available from this company, and all have built-in 4G LTE wireless networking.
“We’re excited to expand our lineup of Apple devices to include the advanced Apple Watch Series 4 with built-in cellular as well as the new iPad Air and iPad mini with LTE, helping support the growing mobile lifestyle of our customers, ” said Billy Stephens, senior vice president, Wireless Devices and Supply Chain, Xfinity Mobile.
iPad and Apple Watch offerings
The Comcast subsidiary will introduce Apple Watch Series 4 beginning on June 28 in it retail locations only. The carrier is letting customers sign up to be reminded when this wearable is available.
More about Xfinity Mobile
Xfinity Mobile doesn’t have its own cellular-wireless network. Instead, it’s a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) for Verizon, so these iPads and Apple Watches will use that carrier’s extensive and speedy 4G network.
Service is only available to those who have a Comcast Xfinity Internet subscription via cable.
Customers can choose from two data options: either $12 per gigabyte of data used, or unlimited for $45 per month per line. A $10 monthly fee is added for each smart watch or tablet.
