Dinosaurs rule the roost in Durango: Wild Lands

The age of dinosaurs has come to iOS with the worldwide release of Nexon and What! Studio’s Durango: Wild Lands.

A giant open-world, sandbox MMO, the game allows players to explore an enormous prehistoric world populated by dinosaurs. In this savage land, they must not just fight for survival, but also use their wits and resources to create settlements and communities.

Durango: Wild Lands offers players a huge amount of freedom to explore and grow in an expansive prehistoric game world in the palm of their hands,” said Tommy Lee, General Manager of NEXON M. “What! Studio has raised the bar for persistent open-world mobile games. [We] can’t wait to see how players work together and tame this massive, diverse and dangerous land of dinosaurs.”

In the game, players are transported from a modern day Earth, thanks to an unexplained space-time distortion event. (Don’t you just hate those everyday space-time distortion events?) You’re then placed into a world filled with explorable islands, tame-able dinosaurs, and plenty of different environments to explore. You’ll have to hunt, craft, cook, farm and build settlements if you want to come out on top.

The game isn’t just single player, however. Many players can group together to form clans, which allow them to either create shared villages or engage in battles. I haven’t yet had the chance to dive into the game and give it an in-depth play-through, but it certainly looks promising.

Durango: Wild Lands is available for download from the App Store. Compatible with devices running iOS 9 or above, it’s free to download — although it does contain in-app purchases.
