Channels are a new way to get third-party content in the Apple TV app. Here’s how to subscribe.
With the release of tvOS 12.3 comes the addition of Channels to the Apple TV app. Channels are a new way for Apple TV app users to subscribe to content providers like HBO, Showtime, and Starz from within the TV app itself.
You don’t need the content provider’s app to view the content. Instead, it plays within the TV app. So, if you’re new to the Apple TV, or you own a smart TV with the Apple TV app installed such as newer models from Samsung, all you have to do is use the TV app. Your subscriptions will also carry over to your other Apple devices.
Most channels come with at least a seven-day trial, after which your subscription payment kicks in. You can unsubscribe at any time, just like you would with any other service you subscribe to through iOS or tvOS.
